Samaritan. The polymer that sets where the injury is.
A two-part, platinum-cure polymer that flows into a wound, sets in place even in blood or water, and is designed to lift out in one piece.
See Samaritan at work.
Flow, set, seal, lift out: footage from the bench, the clinic and the field, from trauma gel on an open wound to IV-site sealing, ear protection and spine research.
Eleven demonstrations. One polymer.
Every clip opens in theater mode with sound. Use the arrows or your keyboard to move between them.
Seal and lift-out on an open wound
Samaritan trauma gel is placed over an open, bleeding wound, sets in place, then lifts away in sections and in one piece.
On-screen captions are from the original footage.Applicator walkthrough
A run-through of the pre-loaded applicator: lock the plunger, twist to open, dispense the polymer, then peel the cured seal away.
Sealing protective equipment in clinic
A physician assistant uses clear Samaritan to seal the edges of a face mask to the skin, builds a mask from sterile cloth, and shows how it comes away.
Narrated by the clinician.Setting in anticoagulated blood
Samaritan set inside a vial of fresh blood treated with anticoagulant, then drawn out intact.
Bench demonstration.Sealing around an IV site
Gloved hands apply Samaritan around a peripheral IV line and secure it without tape.
Securing an IV line, then removal
Samaritan holds an IV line in place on the forearm, then peels away cleanly.
Application along facial contours
Samaritan applied along the brow and eyelid area, then smoothed by hand.
A simple cut, sealed by hand
Coloured Samaritan dispensed onto a simple cut on the hand and shaped into a flexible seal.
Paired with the ViruLite CS light device
Animation of the GeniCure protocol: treatment with the ViruLite CS light device, then Samaritan applied over the lip as a protective layer.
ViruLite CS is a fully FDA-cleared medical device. Samaritan is not FDA cleared or approved.Spinal research: animated concept
Animated concept of the polymer delivered into a disc space and cured in place.
Investigational research; not available for clinical use.SEP-X ear protection
SEP-X cures in the outer ear canal to form a custom seal around existing hearing-protection hardware.
Development stage: tested.Samaritan is not FDA cleared or approved. It is paired with the ViruLite CS light device, a fully FDA-cleared medical device. Demonstrations show areas of development and research, not approved uses. Captions describe what each clip shows.

Flow. Set. Seal. Lift out.
- FlowTwo components meet in a static mixing tip and leave it as a liquid that moves into irregular and deep spaces.
- SetThe polymer sets in place, even in the presence of blood or water, without heat, off-gassing or expansion.
- SealThe cured material forms a flexible, tissue-like seal that conforms to the wound.
- Lift outIt adheres without chemically bonding to tissue, so it is designed to come away in one piece, carrying debris with it.

Six areas of development.
Each application is at its own stage. None is an approved use.
Hemorrhage & trauma
Flows into irregular and deep wounds and sets into a conformant seal, even in the presence of blood.
IV & catheter sites
A tape-free 'second skin' over vascular-access sites, designed as a barrier against contamination.
Foreign-body removal
Wraps debris and fragments as it sets, so they lift out with the cured plug.
Hearing protection (SEP-X)
Cures in the outer ear canal to form a custom seal around existing hearing-protection hardware.
Skin, scar & lesion protection
A flexible, clear protective film for dermatology and procedure aftercare settings.
Spine & orthopedics
Research into an in-situ, motion-preserving polymer for disc and joint spaces. Covered by US 12,357,471.
A motion-preserving polymer for the spine.
US 12,357,471, held by Direct Components Inc., covers treatment of spinal injury with a multifocal polymer, with adjusted expiry in 2043. Research stage only.
Animated concept of the polymer delivered into a disc space and cured in place. Investigational research; not available for clinical use.
Twelve lanes, one material.
Stages are being confirmed with the development team.
