How Samaritan works: a polymer that sets where it is placed

Two components, one static mixer and a seal that conforms to the wound and comes away in one piece.

Samaritan is a two-component, platinum-cure polymer. The components meet in a static mixing tip and leave it as a flowable liquid.

Uncured, it moves into irregular and deep spaces. As it sets, it becomes a flexible, tissue-like solid that conforms to the shape of the wound. Formulations are designed to set without generating heat, without off-gassing and without expanding.

Because the cured material adheres without chemically bonding to tissue, it is designed to be lifted out in one piece, carrying debris with it.

Set time, viscosity and flexibility can be tuned by formulation. Stated performance figures come from bench testing and design targets; clinical validation is the focus of our partnerships.

Samaritan is not FDA cleared or approved. It is paired with the ViruLite CS light device, a fully FDA-cleared medical device. Applications of Samaritan described on this site are areas of development and research.
